Welcome to the Unofficial Huron Natural Area (HNA) Blog. My name is Martin Chmiel, and I am a resident of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Within our city area we have a beautiful natural eco system called the Huron Natural Area (HNA). I have been coming to HNA for the past three years, with my dog Brutus (a King Shephard). We usually go to HNA twice a day, once in the early morning and once in the evening. During these times we see an abundance of wildlife, ranging from deer, goose, beavers, coyotes, racoons, ospreys, golden eagles, turkey vultures, chimpmunks, squirrels and more. I have started this blog to share with you my daily adventures, my observations and knowledge about the Huron Natural Area.
HNA is a partnership between the city, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) and the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). The group aims to collectively maintain or improve the ecological integrity and stewardship of the park, and to help
educate park visitors about the indigenous ecosystems of the area.
